Saiya Koclanes is a hard worker / creator / traveler / graphic designer / writer. She luxuriates in solving design problems big and small, and celebrates other people’s passion projects with the fanatical support + admiration that only a Leo can give. She loves creating art with her bitty 13-inch MacBook Pro, but positively thrives when she’s bustling behind the scenes of a photoshoot or movie set.

When she’s not designing, eating peanut butter, or prodigiously consuming podcast content, she’s brushing up on feminist literature and enjoying any science fiction / fantasy novel she can get her hands on. Or she’s probably thrifting.

of Yore

In past lives Saiya has worked on movie sets, modeled in fashion shows, taught English in Spain, hand-lettered menus and signs, handcrafted herbal + aromatherapeutic sundries, slung organic fruit at her local farmers’ market, brewed kombucha, completed a seed-saving certification course, and roasted tens of thousands of pounds of coffee from all over the world (her favorite was a dry winey one from Karnataka).

If endowed with eternal life, Saiya would take up sewing, acting, biodynamic farming, and immerse herself in theoretical physics. In the mortal timeline she inhabits, however; she’ll do more yoga, drink more natural wine, and keep seeing new places, all while worshipping the content design gods by consistently striving for (but of course never achieving) a perfect symbiotic balance of words, form, and function.

Saiya admires artists of all shapes and sizes, but especially appreciates Merne Judson III for his good taste in food and mastery of the camera.
